Another weekend gone by, oh wait, this is a long weekend for family and friends in Canada.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone up north!!!

So I think, since it’s also a government holiday here as well, that I’ll keep the weekend going one more day.

So far this weekend, I spent the majority of it in the kitchen. And that’s not a chore, I like being in the kitchen these days. I’ve returned to my love of baking (bread!!!) and I’m cooking more meals from scratch, but my way, not my mom’s way. 🙂

And I did some knitting and stitching.

Fall on the Farm is coming along nicely. Almost to the last block.
I added almost two inches to my cabled cardigan.
And I split the tubes for the heels on these socks.

The tube split was done with a friend, guiding her through her first afterthought heel on the pair she’s finishing. It’s so scary to people when they make that first snip in their knitting. After a while you get used to it.

The greenhouse is fully functioning for the fall and winter months now. It’s handy to have a husband who understands electricity. I still have a mental block with understanding it. But he’s got it going and the heater is keeping my tropicals and peppers at minimum temperature overnight now. I aim for 50-53 overnight in the greenhouse.

Oh, the other thing I did this weekend was clean up and sort the yarn in the yarn room. I should be embarrassed, but I’m not. What I am is stocked for knitting projects for a lifetime (at my age).

The first two sections are all fingering weight. It’s now all sorted not only by weight class, but also by content. Some bins are “1 sock yarn” which means they have nylon or polyamide in the yarn. Some bins are “1 not sock” which means they’re strictly wool. And some are “1 luxury sock” which means they have nylon or polyamide and a luxury fiber.

The third section on the right are spinning fibers which I’ve slowly been destashing on Ravelry. And there are two more shelf units that hold EVERYTHING else, weight 2, 3, 4, and 5 as well as handspun and odds and ends. Clearly fingering weight is my go to weight of yarn!

I hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine! Until the next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy!
