Intention Words

As we close out 2021 and move into 2022, I’m reminded of something I used to do. And that was to set an intention word for the year.

In the past that word would help me to focus on what my goals and plans were for the year. It wasn’t a resolution (aka lose 20#, exercise daily) type focus, but rather a mental focus.

And while it’s been a few years since I’ve chosen a word to guide me through the year, this year I’m feeling a need to choose a word.

I thought about a lot of different aspects of my life and what I want to do in the coming year. And about what are realistic goals and what are completely off the wall that I wouldn’t actually do.
I’ve thought about my daily life.

I’ve thought of my strengths and weaknesses.

And I’ve chosen a word for me.

COMPLETE!

What does complete mean to me? On one level, it focuses on my intention to clean up my WIPS and UFO’s. On another level it’s a daily reminder to not walk away until the project/chore is done (even if that means doing the dishes immediately instead of a couple hours later). And on a final level, it’s a reminder to myself that I am a complete person. I am not a perfect person, and I’m not everyone’s “cup of tea” so to speak, but I am complete as I am………acceptance of myself.

So, my question to you is, do you set an intention word for the year? And if you do how do you reminder yourself of that word?

I’m off now to make a sign for the studio and to write my intention at the top of every page in my 2022 planner. See you in 2022!
