Now what?

That’s what I’m asking myself today, now what do I do with this?

Yesterday I quilted a piece of fabric on the domestic with the intention of practicing my quilting, testing out a thread, and making the camera cover out of it. But when I got done, I liked it enough I didn’t want to cut it up into a cover:

It’s not a large piece, just 11×14 inches. Large enough to have made the camera cover out of, large enough to practice on the dsm. (I teach dsm quilting, so I try to stay in practice in spite of owning the longarm and preferring to quilt on it.) But the question remains, what to do with this piece?

Having no answers, I proceeded to quilt another piece quite a bit smaller and make the camera case out of that fabric.

The original piece, well it made a fun backdrop for the camera case picture, but again today I am asking myself “now what do I do with this piece?”.

So, now what? Any suggestions?

Oh, that thread… I LOVE it in the domestic for quilting. I am still trying to find the sweet spot on the tension for it in the longarm, but it makes a great SID thread for blending in and disappearing! If I can only find the sweet spot where it makes a pretty stitch and doesn’t break on the longarm.

  1. Sketchbook cover? A bigger bag for all the cords for your camera, mp3 player, etc? (As I am packing for a trip, rounding up cords, I find it would be nice to have something to stick them all in together to go in my backpack for the plane)

  2. I was thinking the same as Gayle. A bigger bag front!!! A tote type thing! I love that fabric and have thought it is a shame to cut it up..your quilting really filled the bank space nicely!! Post pictures of your decision!!
