Feathered forecasters

Today we had visitors, lots of them, all of the feathered variety.  Yesterday evening I refilled the bird feeders, I run 3 feeders and 2 feeding stations plus a suet feeder in the wintertime.   I also cleaned and refilled the birdbaths.

Early this morning I looked out the bay window to see a Red-Bellied Woodpecker on the River Birch tree.  They haven’t been around much this winter so far which made seeing one this morning extra special.

Later this afternoon as I was cooking supper, the main volume of visitors came in.  At the same time, between the feeders and stations, I had Cardinals, Tufted Titmouse, Black Capped Chickadees, Juncos, Purple Finches, and American Goldfinches. (no pictures I didn’t want to disturb them with my curious dogs)

The weatherman tells me it’s going to get cold here tomorrow night…..the birds are telling me to expect it to get cold here tonight as well.  I think I’ll listen to the birds…..now where did I put that extra quilt for the couch?

No quilting pictures today, my Gammill is down waiting on a part, and I’m still threadpainting the sunflower on the Bernina.  Maybe tomorrow if I make significant progress.
