Have you missed me? I missed me! It’s been a few days since I’ve had the time to post, but tonight I’m making the time!
Quilters Gallery here in the Charlotte area sponsored a “Needle and Fiber Arts Extravaganza” this weekend. I was vending, promoting my longarm business and clearancing my inventory of hand-dyed fabrics. What a great weekend! The event was held in the town of Statesville, NC, a small town right at the junction of two interstates (and only about 10 miles from me!).
Over the course of the weekend, we had over 1,500 visitors to the show!
I enjoy doing shows and getting to reconnect with people I haven’t seen in ages, and to meet new people. If you were there, perhaps you stopped by (I know Karen did and it was great to meet her in person!).
For the backdrop of my booth I always try to have a new quilt hanging. This time I hung my red and white quilt that I was working on a few weeks ago…..remember this:
Well, this is what it looks like hanging:

You might also remember this, from quite a while ago.
Jan took a picture of a sunflower that was spectacular…..and with her permission I used it in a quilt. This is one of the pieces I use when I give my lecture “Turning a Photograph into a Quilt”. In the past, I’ve used this as one of the “in process” examples.
Friday night I decided I had to finish this piece……NOW……(lol sometimes that happens lol). So I started the thread detail work. And I spent Friday night on it, and again this evening…..it’s started, but there’s a long way to go….
I hope to have this piece finished by the end of the week….with a full work week at both jobs scheduled…..wish me luck!
I hope the event was a big financial success too! Statesville is so pretty. It’s not a bad place to spend a weekend.
Oh Judy!!!! THANK YOU!!! I had not seen the sunflower in progress!! It’s awesome!!!! I’m glad you had a great weekend!!!
