Spring is well underway here, flowers are blossoming, the temps are staying above 50 overnight. It’s a busy time of the year. Between yesterday and today, the acre is mowed and almost completely trimmed. I lost a screw out of my trimmer, but that’s okay, I’m going to duct tape it together until Mike gets home to fix it!
What else have I done in the last two days, well, the 19 tomato plants are planted, the 9 peppers are in the ground with the one eggplant (my little experiment this year). The corn is sown (another experiment), the cucumber seeds are in, and so are the two varieties of green beans. The herbs seedlings are all transplanted to their summer pots, the zinnia seeds are planted. The front porch planter pots are remixed with soil and ready to plant.
What’s left to do? Plant the hanging baskets, plant the front porch planter pots, finish trimming the gardens, weed the side garden, run an electric cord to the summer mini fridge on the back porch so I can have a cold drink while I’m working, and vacuum the pool (again)………..
Oh, and I have 72 little 3″ drunkards path blocks pinned and ready to sew.
But right now, I think it’s time to put my feet up!
Did you know that make pretty colors of duct tape now 🙂 You have been busy!!!!! Definitely put your feet up!!
I think you earned it….
J spent yesterday breaking our garden, the first half. Tomorrow to start seeds, and start putting stuff in. The last half is primarily for the potatoes, which he ordered last night. Ok yeah, so we are slow. Can you blame us? Hey, at least it is happening, which is pretty cool after almost ten years of planning, and then sticking the survivors of the Curse of the Black Thumb in giant containers!
