Today was the mid-term portfolio review for drawing class. It went well, I’m pleased with my progress over the semester. It’s been a long, hard climb as some of you know, filled with a lot of turmoil, self-doubt and angst. But I am making improvement in my skills, which is the main goal for me, so I am pleased.
Today I thought I’d share 3 of the last 4 drawings I have done for class. These are all assignments we’ve been given to do, not original compositions. We’ve been working on a series of drawings of buildings and trees. Last week I posted one of the hardwood tree drawings that was assigned.
These first two are the last tree drawings assigned. One is done in charcoal, one is done in pencil.
First the charcoal drawing.
Next the pencil drawing:
Finally the “put it all together” drawing. This was almost the final drawing we were required to do with buildings and trees:
There was one more drawing we were to do. I did it in charcoal, I rushed the drawing as well. Did I say charcoal is messy? Yep, and it’s not a picture I’m going to post. I do have a little bit of pride! 😉
