I’m working on a self-portrait piece for the Lake Norman Quilters show in November.
Self-portraits are an interesting process. What we see and think about ourselves often has little to do with how the outside world perceives us.
So, does your perception of me relate to my perception of me? What do you see in this picture?
There are three sayings stamped into this piece:
“Play in the warmth of the sun, dance in the light of the moon”
“We do not remember days, we remember moments.”
“Laugh often, live well, love much”
Can you pick out the things in life I cherish most? Can you guess which of the above sayings HAD to be in the piece, even if the others had to be left out?
What do you see?
Ok… but you have to promise to reveal more of it whenever you can… I understand the not until after the show thing. I’m guessing butterflies for rebirth or metamorphasis. I can not figure out which saying if you could have only one, but I love them all. But I see a life that has experienced changed and you now feel you are living openly and honestly … I don’t know if that is the change or not… and you see the beauty around you. Am I close?????
Your work is beautiful! Great art! To be creative with many different mediums takes great talent.
This is going to be fantastic!! Can’t wait to see more of it, Judy!
Judy that is just lovely! I love the first saying. “Play in the warmth of the sun, dance in the light of the moon” …They remind me of something I just purchased for my sister that said, ” “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away”.
